Right of Appeal
Parents have a right of appeal to an independent appeal panel in line with the School Admissions Appeals Code (2012) as it applies to academies.
Appeals for admission to Burscough Priory Academy will be held in accordance with the Schools Admission Appeals Code (2012) and the Burscough Priory Academy Admissions Policy 2019-2020 available here on the Lancashire County Council website: https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/media/906092/south-secondary-2019-20.pdf
If you wish to follow the Appeals procedure please complete the appropriate Appeals Form and forward to email@example.com by Thursday 28th March 2019.
Process To Appeal To Gain A Place At Burscough Priory Academy 2019
If the year group is full parents will need to go to appeal.
Parents need to complete the Appeals Application form found on the LCC website or below on this webpage.
Parents need to return the Appeals Application form to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Thursday 28th March 2019.
On receiving the Appeals Application form, Burscough Priory Academy will send a letter of acknowledgment to the person applying for a school place.
Burscough Priory Academy will then forward the following forms to Lancashire County Hall no later than 11th April 2019
1. Application form
2. Representation case
3. Admission Policy
4. A County Hall Form (Form B)
A hearing will then be arranged by LCC on 9th or 10th May 2019.
Timetable of Appeals
- Thursday 28th March 2019 - competed forms to be emailed to
- Appellants will be invited to an appeal hearing which will be held within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. Appellants will be informed in writing of the date and arrangements of the appeal hearing no less than 10 school days before the hearing.
- Following the appeal hearing, Appellants will be informed of the decision of the panel within 5 school days of the hearing, wherever possible.
